BLACK JELLY FUNGUS

This Black Jelly is also called Warty Jelly Fungus, Black Witch's Butter and Black Jelly Roll. Found on twigs and branches of hardwoods, they are olive-brown to black in colour. They form a series of cone-shaped, gelatinous masses, growing up to 25 cm long. There are small warts on the surface that are visible with a magnifying glass . This jelly is easily identified as there are no other similar species.
