The Tan Collybia’s convex cap is 1-5 cm wide, moist and smooth. You might find it as one of a mixture of colors; dark reddish-brown, cherry, gold, or brown. With age, it turns tan to orange-brown or very pale. This mushroom has white or yellowish gills. Its smooth stem measures 1-5 cm high and 2-5 mm thick, sometimes tapering outward at the bottom. This species is not picky on its habitat and is prevalent in deciduous or coniferous woods during Summer to Autumn seasons.
