The Honey Mushroom, with oval, golden caps, measures 3-10 cm in diameter, becoming convex or nearly flat as it ages. It is covered with dark hair-like scales, especially near the center. Its stalk is 15 cm tall and measures 6-20 mm in diameter. The cap is scaly and has a flaring ring. Its spores are white. This mushroom grows in clusters, found in hardwood and conifer forests, on old stumps. The Honey Mushroom fruits in late Fall.
