The Yellow Cups live up to their name; their 3 mm concave cap is actually cup-shaped or saucer-shaped. The cup’s interior is a deep yellow, the outside a little paler. This mushroom has tiny, tapering stem that seems almost non-existent. The reproductive spores are borne on the concave surface of the cup. The Yellow Cup appears in dense clusters and prefers a habitat containing moist, fallen limbs and decaying logs. It is abundant in Summer to Autumn seasons.
