The Rooted Wood Coral, also known as Straight-Branched Coral, is generally 8.5 cm high but reaches up to 12 cm high by 20 cm in width. It grows in a tight cluster and is hard, but not to a brittle state, with slender, pointed tips. Normally this species is a pale-yellow colour, but when bruised they turn to a brown. They prefer a habitat of well-rotted wood.
