The Red-pored Bolete convex caps measure 6-13 cm wide. They are dry, velvety to smooth feeling, and are found with various shades of brown, combined with yellow, orange, or red. The pore surface is red or orange The stems have tiny hairs and are typically 3-19 cm high and 1-2 cm thick. This mushroom stains a blue-black when touched. The Red-pored Bolete fruits on the ground and habits mixed woods.
