The Cisco is a deep, cold lake dweller, that reaches sizes from 15-25 cm. in length. The Cisco is green/blue on its backside. On its sides its scales have a silvery effect and a white colored bottom. The diet of the Cisco consists of zooplankton, tiny crustaceans. With over fishing and the new introduction of competitive species, Cisco numbers are dwindling. Common predators of this foraging fish are Lake Trout and Pike. Pollution in lakes has also cause a decline in this species.
