Uncommon throughout the Algonquin Highlands, you might see it from late May through June in wooded areas. Its wings, spanning 1.8-3.1 cm, are dark brown with small white spots on the forewing, usually in a curved pattern. Underwings are grey, giving it the pepper and salt appearance. They prefer the nectar of Lilac and Honeysuckle.
